Bernard Willington grew up in the industrial heartland of South Wales during the Second World War and as a child invariably accompanied by his sketch book and painting equipment.
In 1984, on returning from two years in West Africa he gave up his engineering career to become a full time artist. In 1988 Bernard's work came to the attention of the Old Course Hotel at St Andrews when he was working on a view of the town from the links.
He was commissioned to paint a version of the view from one of the public rooms at the hotel. He divides his time between his studios in Augusta, Georgia. Bernard currently resides in Wiltshire not far from Stonehenge.
